Straight Out of NYCC: New Gudz from Phetus
Long Island, NY – October 27, 2010 – No Grey Areas, the part of the Phetus Exclusives collection from Elite Gudz, is available now and featured on EastWestWorldWide.com.
The new pieces from Phetus Exclusives made their debut at the New York Comic Con in early October. Every detail has been designed to create top-quality shirts with matching hand-sewed sleeve tags. Extras like 3M reflective designs and glow-in-the-dark accents make these pieces uniquely stylized.
“These are our finest shirts yet!” said an Elite Gudz spokesperson on the line’s release earlier this week.
All the tee shirts feature brand new artwork from Phetus. The “War on Drugs” and “Markyr” shirts contrast basic colors with bold graphic statements; drug-corrupted skulls, career criminals and “biznessmen” all come into play. Phetus’ signature Phat Phace makes an appearance, as well as The Wall Lord, Phe-Gnome, and a revamping of the classic “I AM LI” shirt with a vintage look. The collection also includes the 3 in 1 Shell gloves, popular sellers at Comic Con due to their versatility and strikingly subtle bullet graphic.
Phetus has been mastering his craft of graffiti art since 1988. Working with Elite Gudz, a design studio specializing in creative production and consulting, they are based out of Long Island, NY. Elite Gudz contains in its ranks top talent from the worlds of comics, toys, street art, fine art, media and technology.

Manhattan, NY – October 4, 2010 – The Elite Gudz booth was a highlight of the 2010 New York Comic Con with their exhibit e=MC3, Elite Moveable Cubez, and special guests Cope2, Phetus and Ne-Yo.
Ne-Yo, Phetus and Cope2 met with fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures throughout Comic Con weekend. Ne-Yo stopped by to support Elite Gudz and promote his newest album, Libra Scales, which will have a corresponding comic produced by industry legend Stan Lee.
Cope2 and Phetus signed convention-exclusive copies of Concrete Immortalz: Insurrection. The two graffiti artists collaborated on the latest edition of the ongoing series, which featured an alternate cover by Cope2.
The e=MC3 exhibit was a hit, with over 20 designer cubes on display from artists Cope2, Sucklord, Sebs, Such, Indie184, Phetus, Mr. Den, Rolo Ledesma, Narek Gevorgian, and more. What is a Concrete Immortal?

What is a Concrete Immortal?
Art has progressed throughout history alongside humanity. Each movement has coincided with pivotal points in human history. The graffiti movement is the artistic embodiment of current times and the critical moment that is upon us. Graffiti takes the message straight to the people. The truth can only be suppressed for so long, and that time is upon us.
To be one of the Concrete Immortalz is to make an everlasting contribution to mankind through art. The Concrete Immortalz spread the message of the people; they tap into the subconscious of man and reflect what would otherwise be intangible or repressed. Art is the soul of humanity and the Concrete Immortalz have been the keepers of the human spirit since the beginning of time.
The series begins with “Concrete Immortalz: Insurrection” (available online for a limited time here) and continues with “Concrete Immortalz: Ruination.” We are introduced to a dystopian New York City through the eyes of The Wall Lord, an embodiment of the passion, tragedy and talent present in all great men who have been capable of capturing the human spirit and leading their generation to revolution. The Wall Lord spreads messages of hope and rebellion against a totalitarian government, with truth and spray paint as his weapons of choice.
The series is produced by design firm Elite Gudz, which was founded by some of the graffiti art scene’s most recognizable artists. “Concrete Immortalz: Insurrection” and “Concrete Immortalz: Ruination” features artwork from three generations of the world’s most renowned and iconic graffiti artists, including some of the actual originators of this historic art movement. Artists and writers on the project include members of the Elite Gudz team, including Phetus, Brian Ferrara, Mr. Den, Narek Gevorgia, and Rodolfo Ledesma. Other contributors from the graffiti world include respected graffiti artist Cope2, who made a guest appearance in “Concrete Immortalz: Insurrection” and contributed an alternative cover for the issue.
With eyes towards the future and respect for the past, the art of Concrete Immortalz represents authenticity and innovation in each of the genres it spans. As with all artists involved in Concrete Immortalz, it is not enough to simply be creative, there is a drive to create an impact and move people through art.

The Cultyard @ NYCC (10.8 – 10.10)

We’re amped for the upcoming fifth New York Comic-Con (October 8th thru the 10th) @ the Javits Center in NYC. This year’s show is bound to the best yet for art toys and counter culture with the addition of ‘The Cultyard’ section featuring a focused block of booths. The new NYCC section builds off the galvanizing success of the Toy Grower’s Cultyard at SDCC and takes things one notch higher with a Cultyard-specific lounge area for unwinding and chatting in between booth crawling for exclusives and signings.
Speaking of booths, this year’s lineup features a strong mix of quintessential brands including 1st time NYCC exhibitors Kidrobot and Tokidoki, NYC stalwarts including myplasticheart and Toy Tokyo, as well as new energetic companies such as RAJE Toys and Monster Worship. Oh and your favorite toy blog (well ok, our favorite toy blog).
There’s alot going on this year from live ‘cubez’ painting from Phetus and Elite Gudz and live DJs in the lounge to the massive Re:Form School art show opening on Saturday, October 9th in a reclaimed school house on Mott Street between Houston and Prince.
With the new show-within-a-show Cultyard, this year’s NYCC is a no-brainer if you live in or around NYC.
